As Cebu continues to increase in the number of tourists coming through the world renowned island, Mactan-Cebu International Airport expanded with the opening of Terminal 2 in 2018. MCIA is the second busiest airport in the Philippines. Along with the opening was the airport's first visual identity.
Mactan-Cebu International Airport being the world's first resort airport awarded Best Completed Building Transport at the World Architecture Festival in 2019, this case study envisions a redesigned visual identity for MCIA that embraces Cebuano heritage and the modern yet elegant architecture of Terminal 2.
